AI has advanced rapidly, but accessibility has not kept pace. Today, more than 430 million people worldwide live with disabling hearing loss, yet communication tools remain fragmented, expensive, and often inaccessible. Interpreters are scarce, captions are limited, and many existing solutions fail to reflect how Deaf people actually communicate.
This has resulted in social isolation, limited access to education and healthcare, and careers cut short, not because of ability, but because of access.
