Linguist (Sign Language)
Bring linguistic expertise to our AI systems, ensuring accurate and culturally respectful representation of sign languages.
What you'll do
- Advise on sign language structure and grammar for AI models
- Create linguistic resources and annotations
- Evaluate translation quality and cultural appropriateness
- Collaborate with Deaf community consultants
- Research regional variations and sign language evolution
What we're looking for
- Advanced degree in Linguistics with focus on sign language
- Fluency in at least one sign language (ASL, BSL, etc.)
- Understanding of Deaf culture and community
- Experience with linguistic annotation and corpus building
- Strong research and documentation skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of multiple sign languages
- Experience with computational linguistics
- Background in language technology
